Dry eye starts with
tear film disruption.1
Tyrvaya™ (varenicline solution) nasal spray is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease.
For dry eye disease, activate basal tear film production.
Tyrvaya™ is the first and only nasal spray that is believed to activate the trigeminal parasympathetic pathway via the nose, resulting in increased basal tear film production.1 The exact mechanism of action is unknown at this time.
- The trigeminal parasympathetic pathway plays a role in tear film homeostasis2
- Basal tear film is produced by 3 structures (lacrimal glands, meibomian glands, and goblet cells) that are innervated by the parasympathetic pathway2,3
